In 2016, Darlers was bought by Take-Two Interactive, which makes Call of Duty and NBA 2K titles.
It went on to become one of the biggest gaming franchises in the world, but it was also one of a few franchises to have its fans abandon the franchise after the launch of the PlayStation 4.
In 2017, Take-Twelve shut down Darlies and its entire franchise of popular multiplayer games, with some saying that the games had become a distraction for fans of the franchise.
“The first thing that happens when you have that many people on the internet is that you’ve kind of become the equivalent of a corporate headquarters, and it’s pretty difficult to do that,” said Darlestars co-creator Joe DeRosa.
“And so, the next step is to find a way to make sure that it stays like that.”
