
Aug. 20, 2018 — The New England Revolution announced on Tuesday that it has signed Gia Darling, a first-round draft pick out of Florida State University, to a contract extension through 2021.
Darling, a native of Miami, is set to earn $8 million this season, the Revolution announced.
He is eligible for a $2 million signing bonus in the offseason.
The 25-year-old was signed by the Revolution in May of 2018 and spent the first four seasons with the club before making the move to MLS in March of 2019.
Darling started 14 games last season, logging an average of 8.8 minutes per game.
The move to the MLS will be his fourth move since joining the Revolution.
Darling spent the 2017 season with the Houston Dynamo and the 2018 season with Orlando City SC.
